A study has shown that alcohol can help in weight loss

A new study from the University of Sydney shows that drinking alcohol can even contribute to weight loss. Although experts never tire of reminding you that alcohol itself is high in calories, and also makes you eat more in the form of snacks. So what's the matter and where is the truth?

The truth is that there is a nuance — drinking can really help people lose extra pounds, but only if they eat nuts and other healthy snacks. Scientists claim that foods with a high protein content absorb alcohol without causing obesity.

In addition to nuts, you can eat olives, cheeses, vegetables, sauces and dried or fresh fruits. The researchers saw that if people chose such foods while drinking alcohol, they consumed fewer calories overall than those who completely abstained from drinking alcohol. However, the choice of chips, cookies or fatty foods as snacks does not affect your figure in the best way.

So, in the study, those participants who chose foods high in protein but low in carbohydrates and fats consumed an average of 1,749 calories per day, including alcohol. But the participants who chose potato chips, etc., consumed an average of 3,051 calories.

Note that in this study, scientists did not take into account the harm that alcohol generally causes to the body.
