According to the results of a new study, people who exercise on an empty stomach burn 70% more fat than those who exercise two hours after eating. And this is not all the conclusions that the experts have come to.
Experts from the University of Nottingham Trent have found that the most effective way to exercise if you want to lose weight is on an empty stomach. At the same time, it turned out that the most popular time for such exercises in people is the period from 16 to 20 hours.
In the course of the study, participants engaged in an exercise bike with moderate intensity for 30 minutes. They did it twice: once - after a 7-hour fast, once - two hours after eating. The results showed that fasting exercises in the evening increase the amount of fat burned. So, the indicators of burned fat after half an hour of training increased by about 70%: from 4.5 g to 7.7 g.
During the day, those who exercised on an empty stomach consumed 440 kcal less. However, they also ate about 100 kcal more at dinner compared to other participants, and received less pleasure from evening training.
