Mama June’s weight loss transformation is revealed in new show’s preview
It's a first look at Mama June Shannon's new reality.
The TV star, who dropped considerable weight through medical operations coupled with a healthy lifestyle, unveiled her new, trimmer figure in a teaser clip for her series "Mama June: From Not to Hot."
In the 1.5-minute clip, Shannon appears on camera for the first time since her transformation as she talks to her daughter Alana — also known as Honey Boo Boo — about being a flower girl in an upcoming wedding.
Shannon, 37, once weighed 460 pounds but slimmed down to a size four after gastric sleeve and skin removal surgeries, along with exercising and dieting, according to Entertainment Tonight.
She underwent a gastric sleeve procedure last year after doctors determined it was a safer option than dieting.
Shannon, a mother of four, was hospitalized last March after she fainted at her Georgia home on a day where she didn't eat much.
The reality star's new series, which airs on WE tv, chronicles Shannon's transformation during her journey toward a healthy life.

The network bills the series as an opportunity to "follow Mama June as she embarks on a quest of self-discovery that will redefine who she is as a woman, mother, lover and celebrity."
Shannon rose to fame for her role as matriarch on the TLC reality series "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," which centered on Alana, a child beauty pageant competitor, and her family.
Alana, 11, revealed her mother resorted to wearing costumes in advance of her latest show's premiere in an effort to keep her new figure a surprise.
"My mama is not just a person who can stay in the house," Alana told People. "My mama is very outgoing and stubborn. So when she's like, 'Lets go to the grocery store,' we're like, 'You can't, because you have to stay in hiding, you know.'"
TLC canceled "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" in 2014 after reports surfaced claiming Shannon had rekindled a relationship with a registered sex offender who, according to a police report, spent 10 years in jail for allegedly molesting her daughter, Anna.
